What to include

What to put on a roofing estimate

Who you are. Your business name, phone, and your license number if your trade or city needs one.
One line per item. A quantity and a unit on every line, so the customer sees what they are paying for. For roofing work that usually means hours, roofing squares, linear feet, a price for each one and sheets.
Labor and materials apart. It reads as fair, and it is what tax is usually worked out on.
A short scope of work. What you will do, in plain words, plus what is not included, so nobody argues about it later.
The money terms. The deposit to start, when the balance is due, and how many days the price holds.
A place to sign. A signature, a printed name and a date turn an estimate into an agreement.

Is this roofing estimate template free?

Do I need to charge sales tax on the estimate?

It depends on your state and on what you sell. Some states tax materials only, some tax labor too. The template has a tax line for whatever your state taxes; check with your state tax office if you are not sure.

Can I fill it in on my phone instead?
